Weekend battle raging for Newmarket, Aurora rep teams

In its 13th year, the Battle of Yonge is on this weekend in arenas across Newmarket and Aurora, 58 games in all from Novice A to Midget AA. With the series tied at six, this year's competition for the trophy and bragging rights is epic. Newmarket hosted the official opening last night at the Magna Centre, with a ceremonial face-off at the Midget AA game attended by local dignitaries. After day 2, it’s Aurora Tigers 16 and Newmarket Redmen 12.
