UPDATE: York Regional Police investigating fatal shooting in Aurora

UPDATE, 4:50 p.m.: York Regional Police confirmed there is not yet any information about a suspect after a man was found dead on Stubbs Lane in Aurora.

Police responded to a call at 12:17 p.m. today for a shooting at a residential home. Officers located one man and one woman with gunshot wounds.

While the male victim was deceased, the female was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is still in its early stages, police said.

An officer on the scene said he could not confirm whether the shooting incident was linked to a hold and secure at Southlake Regional Health Centre this afternoon.

Police are asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to investigators to come forward, along with anyone with video from the area around the time of the incident.

York Regional Police is investigating a fatal shooting, in which a second victim was left with injuries, in Aurora today. 

Police reported that officers are on the scene at Stubbs Lane in Aurora, near the Leslie Street and Wellington Street East intersection.

One victim was declared deceased at the scene, while a second was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There will be a police presence while the investigation is underway, York Regional Police said. Police have not yet released any details about the suspect(s).
