York Region will be closing a portion of St. John’s Sideroad in Aurora to make way for a culvert replacement.
The closure in the Town of Aurora will run from July 31 to Aug. 18 between Bathurst Street and Yonge Street. During this time, vehicle traffic will not be able to travel through the roadway, although residents will have access to the area.
“We understand road construction creates challenges for the community,” York Region said in a news release. “We are working to deliver this project with minimal disruption.”
The culvert replacement necessitates the road closure, the region said, to ensure the safety of workers and travellers.
The region said the work could be rescheduled due to weather, and it will provide advance notice where possible.
