WATCH: Lifting the Stanley Cup is not as easy as it looks

Michael Amadio of the NHL champion Vegas Golden Knights was a recent guest on our Inside the Village podcast. What went through his mind as he hoisted the Cup? Don't fall

Michael Amadio lived the Canadian dream last month, hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time after his Las Vegas Golden Knights clinched the NHL championship.

A proud resident of Sault Ste. Marie who went on to star with the OHL's North Bay Battalion, the 27-year-old forward was a recent guest on Village Media's Inside the Village podcast.

Amadio was asked about the moment a teammate handed him the Cup near centre ice during the post-game celebration. Did you have your victory skate all planned out in your mind?

“I don’t think I knew what I was going to do with it," Amadio joked. "I think I just wanted not to fall on the ice with it. I think that was the only thing I was thinking of. I don’t even remember the moment, it goes by so fast. I just tried to enjoy it.”
