Richmond Hill hands out $64K in community grants

CHATS and Community Living York South are among the 17 organizations receiving grant funding from the City of Richmond Hill.

The city supports community groups, organizations and individuals that are passionate about enhancing the quality of life and cultural vibrancy of Richmond Hill residents through the delivery of programs, services and/or activities, according to a city news release.

This year, a total of $64,640 was approved by council through the community and cultural grant program.

Applications are reviewed by a jury of staff and citizens based on criteria outlined in the program application and guidelines. The maximum grant per project is 50 per cent of the project budget up to a maximum of $5,000.
