After a year of public consultation on the redevelopment of Newmarket’s historic Mulock property, the community will soon get a chance to see the three design concepts that have emerged as front-runners for the future year-round park.

Thousands of residents shared their vision of how they would like to experience the future Mulock property, which helped shape the concepts devised by PLANT Architect.

The firm will reveal the designs to council and the public at the end of September, which include the themes of energized, peaceful, and expressive.

Between Sept. 29 to Oct. 12, Newmarket residents can explore and provide additional feedback on the park concepts from the comfort of their home.

There are two opportunities to take a virtual journey through the emotive visions for the town’s next community space as follows:

  • On Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m., the public can take an in-depth walk-through of the design ideas during a special committee of the whole meeting. You can stream it live here.
  • On Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 8 p.m., you can join the town live on Facebook for a short glimpse into the future. RSVP to the event at Facebook live Mulock concepts reveal.

Following the meetings, residents can step away to consider if the future property they envision is energized, peaceful, expressive or a combination of all three.

The feedback received on the three design concepts will then be refined to one preferred concept taking elements from each theme and, finally, one master plan.
