Kim Champion

Kim Champion joined the Village Media team in August 2018 and is a reporter at NewmarketToday.

Her unabashed love for local journalism began two decades ago after graduating from Centennial College's fast-track journalism program. Kim worked as a reporter for nearly a decade and has served for as long as managing editor of several community newspapers in Ontario, from Toronto to Parry Sound and York Region.

Kim won two provincial news association awards for editorial writing within a five-year time frame and, under her leadership, the news teams she has worked with received national and provincial recognition for its coverage of local politics and community service.
