William Smith of Aurora was dealt a winning hand in the Nov. 24, 2020 Poker Lotto draw. He matched five of five cards to win $100,000.

William, a 55-year-old Toronto hydro worker, said he’s a regular lottery player but normally doesn’t choose Poker Lotto. “I was checking some tickets using the OLG Lottery App and left my Poker Lotto one until the end,” he shared. “My wife and I were in shock!”

William shared the good news with some friends by sending them a photo of the win from the OLG Lottery App screen.

“This feels very gratifying. Now I don’t feel bad about buying things,” he laughed.

William is planning on building a dock and paying some bills with his winnings.

Poker Lotto offers both instant in-store wins – of up to $5,000 – and nightly prize draws of up to $100,000 with each $2 play and uses playing card symbols rather than numbers. Visit the Poker Lotto page on OLG.ca for more information.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shell on King Road in King City.
