Two men have been charged and a stolen vehicle recovered following a home invasion Markham Saturday afternoon.
When York Regional Police responded to a report of a home invasion in the area of Steeles Avenue East and Henderson Avenue April 12 at about 4 p.m., a woman reported two armed men broke into her house and threatened to kill her while demanding money, according to a news release. The victim was not injured.
The suspects fled in a white sports utility vehicle, which had been stolen earlier that day in Orillia, police said.
The stolen vehicle was located, with the assistance of the air support unit and the Toronto Police Service. The suspects were located on foot in a mall in Toronto and taken into custody.
Charged are Wylie Gabriel, 18, of no fixed address and Andrew Parsons, 24, of Toronto, police said.
Charges:
- Robbery with Firearm
- Disguise with Intent
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Mischief Over $5,000
Parsons was on two release orders and wanted by TPS at the time of these offences, police said.
