York police tap public for tips in 5 Markham shootings (5 photos)

Incidents took place between May 18 and July 13

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking suspects and witnesses following five shooting incidents that occurred in the City of Markham.

On May 18, 2020, York Regional Police responded to a residence on Scandia Court regarding sounds of gunshots. Suspects fled prior to officer arrival.

A second incident of shots fired occurred the following day on May 19 at the same location. There were no injuries in either shooting. The suspect vehicle is a grey, white or silver BMW X series.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2020, shortly after 2 a.m., officers were called to a residence on Ascot Crescent for a report of the sound of gunshots. When officers arrived, they located several shell casings as well as bullet holes in a garage door. No one was injured. Investigators are releasing images of a person of interest who is believed to have information on the incident.

On Sunday, June 21, 2020, shortly before 2 a.m., officers responded to a residence on Risebrough Circuit for reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found bullet holes in and shell casings at the residence. During the investigation, officers learned that shots had been fired at a second location a short distance away at a residence on Empringham Crescent. There were no injuries in either incident. Investigators believe that the suspect vehicle is a grey, white or silver Infinity G35 or G37 with a distinctive black hood and bumper.

On July 13, 2020, officers were called to a residence on Unity Gardens Drive for a report of the sound of gunshots. When officers arrived, they located bullet holes in the front door and in a vehicle in the driveway. No one was injured. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a white, grey or silver Acura TL sedan.

Officers are asking anyone with information on these incidents to please come forward. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways in the area at the time of any of the shootings.
