Police are looking for witnesses after a woman was killed in a collision early Saturday morning in Innisfil.
Shortly before 2 a.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash on Yonge Street, south of the 9th Line. When they arrived, a 2023 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2006 Chevrolet Impala were engulfed in flames.
The two occupants of the Jetta were removed from the vehicle and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Impala, a 33-year-old Barrie woman, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite life-saving efforts by a citizen and emergency personnel, South Simcoe police said in a news release.
