A 29-year old woman in Newmarket was followed to her vehicle and sexually assaulted near Davis Drive and Roxborough Road.
The incident happened on Friday, Sept. 24 at about 11 p.m., York Regional Police said.
A male suspect followed the victim from a building to her vehicle where police say he touched her inappropriately.
The victim was able to fend off the attacker and escape without serious injury.
The suspect fled the scene, which is in the area of Southlake Regional Health Centre, before police arrived.
He is described as male with tanned skin, 5'6" tall and weighing 150 pounds. At the time he was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and
dark-coloured bandana with a white print.

Police are encouraging anyone who believes they have been a victim of sexual assault, which includes all non-consensual contact of a sexual nature, to come forward.
Survivors of sexual assault can also make a report online if they are not in immediate danger, if the suspect does not have access to the survivor's email account, or if there is no material evidence to be collected.
