Investigators with the York Regional Police Guns, Gangs and Drug Enforcement Bureau have laid charges and seized a quantity of drugs in an ongoing trafficking investigation.
In July 2021, officers began an investigation after receiving information regarding a suspected drug trafficker.
On Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2021, York Regional Police executed multiple search warrants in several locations, including in York Region, the City of Toronto and the City of St. Thomas.
Officers seized a significant quantity of drugs, with an approximate street value of more than $1 million. The seizure included 6.3 kilograms of MDMA, 1.5 kilograms of ketamine, more than 830 grams of methamphetamine, 620 grams of cocaine, 59 grams of fentanyl, approximately 9,000 MDMA pills, 51 pounds of harvested cannabis, and approximately $350,000 cash.
One of the suspects fled from the scene during one of the search warrants. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Two additional suspects have been arrested and charged.

- Jing Katrina XU, 35, of Markham

- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking - Ketamine
