VIDEO: Fire Marshal says Vaughan beauty salon fire was intentionally set

York Regional Police hope to identify suspects

Investigators with the #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are releasing video surveillance obtained following an arson and are seeking public assistance to identify the suspects.

On Friday, Jan. 3, 2020, police responded to a beauty salon in the area of Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road in the City of Vaughan for reports of a fire.

Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services attended and put out the fire. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was notified and the fire was determined to have been intentionally set.

Investigators obtained surveillance video of the incident and are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying the suspects.

Suspect description:
    •    Wearing dark clothing and carrying a gas can

Suspect vehicle:
    •    Described as a red, mid-sized vehicle
    •    One headlight out
    •    Second suspect driving
