A suspect fled in a Mercedes in an armed carjacking last night in Markham.

A man was driving his Mercedes-Benz C-Class when it was struck from behind at a stop sign at Rinas Avenue and Beaverbrae Drive at about 11:10 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, York Regional Police said in a news release.

When the man exited his car to look at the damage, a suspect exited a vehicle with a knife pointed at the man and demanded he hand over his car keys. The victim complied, and the suspects fled in the vehicles.

The victim was not physically injured.

The man who took the victim’s car is described as white, five-foot-eight to five-foot-10, wearing black pants, a black jacket and black ski mask.
