Suspects return to Markham house months after robbery

Three people have been arrested after suspects returned to a Markham home months after a woman, who was in the garage in a vehicle with her children, had been approached by two masked men with a gun who fled in a waiting vehicle with her purse and cellphone.  

On Jan. 27, 2023, police were initially called to the home near Warden Avenue and 16th Avenue for a report of a robbery in the victim's garage, according to a York Regional Police news release.

Then on April 7, two suspects returned and attempted to gain entry into the house, police said. The victim contacted police when she arrived home and saw a vehicle in the neighbourhood that appeared suspicious.

Through investigation, the suspects were identified and charged:
    •    Liang Yu, 24, of Toronto - robbery with a firearm, criminal harassment
    •    Jiahao Zhang, 30, of Markham - robbery with a firearm, criminal harassment
    •    Jing Yang, 40, of Toronto - robbery with a firearm
