Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are appealing for assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred in the City of Markham.
On May 24, 2021, police responded to a residence on Harbord Street, which is in the area of Kennedy Road and Bur Oak Avenue, for report of a home invasion robbery.
Officers learned that two male suspects, armed with firearms, forced entry into the residence and held the occupants at gunpoint. One of the occupants was struck in the head with a firearm. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the investigation officers identified the suspects. One of the suspects, Torraye Connor Williams, 24, of Brampton, was arrested and has been charged with:
- Robbery with a firearm,
- Disguise with intent,
- Forcible confinement,
- Aggravated assault; and
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
A warrant has been issued for the second suspect. Anyone with information about his location, or information on the incidents, is asked to contact investigators. Citizens are urged not to approach the suspect but to call police immediately. The accused is encouraged to seek legal advice and turn himself in.
