Suspect sought in sexual assault at Newmarket LCBO

York Regional Police is seeking public assistance to identify a suspect after a sexual assault that occurred in the Town of Newmarket.

On Saturday, July 13, 2019, York Regional Police responded to a report of a sexual assault at a liquor store at Yonge Street and Davis Drive.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., a female victim was shopping in the store when a male suspect approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks. The victim confronted the suspect who fled from the store.

Investigators are releasing images of the suspect and are seeking public assistance in identifying him. We are also appealing to any witnesses in the area at the time of the incident to please come forward.

Suspect description:

  • Male
  • White
  • 25 to 30
  • Tall, approximately 6’2”
  • Thin build
  • Dark short hair
  • Acne on face
  • Wearing glasses, a yellow T-shirt, jeans and white shoes
  • Carrying a black duffle bag
