Richmond Hill teen among 4 arrested in GTA drug trafficking probe

Suspected cocaine, cannabis, loaded handgun, Tasers and brass knuckles among items seized, York Regional Police say

An 18-year-old Richmond Hill man is among four arrested by the York Regional Police guns, gangs and drug enforcement unit following a seizure of suspected drugs in a trafficking investigation in the Greater Toronto Area. 

Between January and March, the unit conducted an investigation into an organized group of suspected drug traffickers, according to a York Regional Police news release.

During the investigation, search warrants were executed at five residences in York Region, Durham Region and Toronto.

According to police, investigators recovered two kilograms of cocaine, 34 kilograms of cannabis, 263 grams of MDMA, 900 millilitres of codeine, a loaded hand gun with additional ammunition, two conducted energy weapons and brass knuckles. 

Four suspects were arrested and have been charged, police said.

Jack Holman, 22, of Toronto is charged with:

  • Disobey a court order 
  • Trafficking cocaine 
  • Trafficking MDMA 
  • Trafficking methamphetamine 
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Conspiracy to commit and indictable offence 

Ragavan Ravinthiran, 28, of Whitby is charged with:

  • Trafficking cocaine 
  • Trafficking methamphetamine 
  • Possession for the purpose of distributing cannabis 
  • Conspiracy to commit an indictable offence 
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon 
  • Possession of a loaded restricted firearm 
  • Careless storage of a firearm/ammunition 
  • Possession of a firearm/ammunition contrary to order 

Alexander Khatra, 27, of Toronto is charged with:

  • Trafficking cocaine 
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Conspiracy to commit and indictable offence 

Noah Bozzo, 18, of Richmond Hill is charged with: 

  • Trafficking cocaine 
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking 
  • Conspiracy to commit and indictable offence 
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon 

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused are considered innocent unless proven guilty.

Police said at the time of his arrest, Holman was on a judicial release order with conditions to remain in his residence at all times. Following the arrest of Ravinthiran, it was discovered he was on a firearms prohibition order, police said.
