Queensville woman killed in off-road vehicle collision in Minden

Queensville man has been charged with impaired operation, and operation causing death following single-vehicle collision Saturday, OPP said

A 55-year-old Queensville woman has been killed in a single-vehicle collision involving a side-by-side off-road vehicle in Minden last Saturday.

Members of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency services responded to the serious motor vehicle collision on Windover Drive Oct. 21 shortly after 5 p.m., according to Haliburton Highlands OPP.

The woman, who was a passenger in the off-road vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene, police said.

As a part of the on-going investigation police have arrested and charged the driver, Creig Tranmer, 55, of Queensville, with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) and operation causing death, police said.

The accused had his driver's licence suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days. The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on Dec. 6. The accused had non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

The roadway remained closed for several hours while OPP technical collision investigators assisted with the investigation.
