South Simcoe Police Service officers are issuing a new public appeal after a woman was struck and killed in Bradford.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at 7:23 p.m., police were called to the intersection of Holland St. West and West Park Ave. for a report of a pedestrian struck. A 40-year-old Bradford woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of one vehicle involved remained at the scene.

However, after reviewing hours of surveillance camera video from nearby businesses, investigators are now seeking to identify a second vehicle.

The head of the South Simcoe Police Service Traffic Unit is urging that driver to come forward.

"We are, every day, every hour, gathering more evidence to help us understand what took place here. Tell us in your own words what took place Saturday night. We want to identify the cause of this collision and help bring closure to a family here in town," said Sgt. Dave Phillips.

Four investigators are assigned to the case. Officers are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision on Saturday night to contact police.
Security camera images indicate there were numerous residents near the scene who have not spoken to police.

"We believe there are citizens that may have a crucial piece of evidence that can help us complete the picture of what happened here. We need to know if you heard something or saw something. It may have seemed insignificant to you at the time but we want to hear from you," Sgt. Phillips said.

The woman who was killed was a long-time Bradford resident.
