Woman, 40, killed in hit and run in Bradford

“So horrifying..and horrible.. so tragic..I’m at a loss.. so sad and it will be on my mind for some time,” a woman who witnessed the accident posted on Facebook. South Simcoe Police are appealing for witnesses and information about the vehicle that fled the scene.

South Simcoe Police are asking for witnesses to a collision that claimed the life of a 40-year-old woman last night in a hit and run on Holland Street West.

Police say the "fail to remain" incident occurred at 7:23 p.m. on Holland Street West. The eastbound lanes between West Park Avenue and Melbourne Drive were closed for a collision investigation last night. 

Several residents at the scene posted about the crash on Facebook.

“A woman has been struck and killed by a car,” wrote Jessica Lynn on Facebook, adding she was on the side of the road when the incident happened. “She was struck once, the car took off and she was hit multiple times after that.”

“So horrifying..and horrible.. so tragic..I’m at a loss.. so sad and it will be on my mind for some time,” wrote Angie Marie Williams, adding she pulled over her car and ran to the scene to help. 

“Big accident at the intersection (near Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire),” wrote Cheryl LeBlond. “Roads are wet. Drive safely.”
