Police seek help to identify woman's body found in Lake Simcoe last summer

The York Regional Police Homicide Unit is appealing to the community for information that may lead to the identity of an unknown female victim who was located in Lake Simcoe.

On Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, shortly after noon, officers received a call to the docks near Lake Drive North in Georgina on Lake Simcoe. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a body in the water.

A post-mortem examination was conducted and it has been determined that the deceased is an unidentified adult female who is 28 to 50 years, 4’5” to 5’1” and was dressed for cold weather. It was also determined that the victim is possibly Asian. The cause of death has not been determined at this time.

Investigators are releasing images of clothing, jewelry and an illustration of nail art from the deceased. They are appealing to anyone who may have information to contact police.
