Police seek fourth suspect in phone store robbery in Vaughan

Three suspects arrested, cellphones, watches and tablets, valued at more than $190,000 recovered by YRP

York Regional Police have charged three people and are seeking a fourth suspect in connection with a robbery at a phone store in Vaughan in which nearly $200,000 in merchandise was stolen.

On Friday, July 7, at 8:10 p.m., police responded to the area of Major Mackenzie Drive West and Dufferin Street where three masked suspects had entered a store and forced two employees to the floor.

The thieves stole a large quantity of cellphones, watches and tablets, valued at more than $190,000, police said. The suspects fled in a white SUV driven by a fourth suspect.

Through investigation, and with help from the Air Support Unit and Durham Regional Police, officers were able to locate the vehicle and arrest three suspects in Ajax at around 11:30 p.m., while a fourth fled on foot. The stolen merchandise was recovered.

Police are releasing images of the fourth suspect and appealing to the public for information to identify and locate him. The suspect is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in, YRP said in a news release.

Dominic Mudahy, 21, of Vaughan and Jovan Bryan, 28, of Brampton are charged with robbery, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. Bryan was also charged with two counts of failing to comply with a court order.

Brittany Rattray, 32, of Brampton is charged with being an accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and failing to comply with a court order.

Police said Rattray was already before the courts on unrelated charges and bound by four existing bail orders and Bryan was on one bail order.

The fourth suspect, not named in the police news release, is wanted on charges of robbery, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
