The York Regional Police Homicide Unit is seeking suspects and witnesses following a shooting at a parking lot outside of an establishment in the City of Vaughan.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022, at approximately 3:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gun shots fired in the area of Interchange Way and Highway 7. When officers arrived, they located a male victim with gunshot wounds.

The male victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigation is ongoing.

There were several potential witnesses in the area and investigators are urging them to come forward to speak with police.

Initially it was reported to police that a blue vehicle was possibly involved, however investigators have been unable to confirm that and are asking media to not report this information in order to get witnesses to report their independent recollection.

Investigators are appealing witnesses to come forward who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and have not yet spoken to police. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865, or email the Homicide Unit at [email protected], or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online.
