Police search for driver of Porsche following Richmond Hill hit-and-run

Police say they are aware of a video circulating on social media, and urge witnesses to come forward

York Regional Police are seeking witnesses and the driver of a suspect vehicle following a fail-to-remain collision in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at approximately 7:30 p.m., police were called to the area of South Park Road and Saddlecreek Drive a report of a collision. While officers were responding, they learned that one of the vehicles, a blue Porsche convertible, was fleeing from the scene. When officers arrived, they learned that the Porsche had struck a white Hyundai Santa Fe then went off the road onto the grass. The Porsche fled from the scene going west on South Park Road. The driver of the vehicle that remained was not injured.

Officers are aware of the video circulating on social media from this incident. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision, are being asked to please come forward. The driver who fled the scene is urged to obtain legal counsel and to contact police immediately.
