Police probing arson at Richmond Hill comedy club

Suspect sought in Aug. 22 incident on York Blvd.

Police are investigating a break-in and arson at a comedy club in Richmond Hill.

At about 11 a.m. Aug. 22, York Regional Police were called to the club on York Boulevard, near East Beaver Creek Road. They arrived to find the front doors had been smashed open. A suspect had poured an accelerant on tables and ignited them, which caused damage.

Police believe the suspect entered the club at about 2 a.m. and was scared away by a delivery truck that arrived soon after.

A suspect was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, possibly with a Calvin Klein logo, a black face mask, dark pants, and light-coloured shoes.
