UPDATE: Man charged with first-degree murder in Richmond Hill

Homicide investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward

A man has been charged with first-degree murder after police found a woman who was deceased at a house in Richmond Hill tonight.

York Regional Police officers responded to an "unknown trouble call" at a residence on Bond Crescent in the area of Yonge Street and King Road at about 7:45 p.m. Feb. 24, according to a news release. 

When officers arrived, they discovered an 41-year-old female with stab wounds. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

An adult male suspect was arrested and taken to hospital with injuries, and has now been charged with first-degree murder. 

The couple's four children, aged nine to 19, were in the home at the time but were not injured, police said.
