Police are encouraging parents who are not supervising their teens to 'have conversations about the consequences of criminal acts'

York Regional Police have re-launched Operation Beehave to combat mischief and unruly behaviour in Vaughan this summer after a rowdy weekend at Canada's Wonderland.

Officers were called several times to the area of Jane Street and Norwood Avenue and on the grounds of Canada’s Wonderland during its opening weekend.

No charges were laid, according to police, but officers escorted several guests from the park.

Videos shared on social media last weekend showed large crowds of teenagers at Canada’s Wonderland, and a video posted to TikTok showed a youth being escorted away by police.

Officers will investigate reports of disruptive and threatening behaviour in those areas, police said, and criminal charges will be laid as necessary.

Police said many of these incidents involve teenagers who are out without adult supervision.

"We urge parents who are not able to supervise their teens to have conversations about the consequences of such criminal acts. Youths can face very serious charges, as well as being prohibited from returning to the park and the surrounding businesses," YRP said.

Businesses and members of the public are also encouraged to report suspicious incidents and submit video surveillance to police at 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7445, or you can leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online.

Canada’s Wonderland is also requesting its guests to report anything that violates its guest code of conduct to one of its workers or security personnel, or call 905-832-7535.
