Police increase patrols following 2nd shooting at Richmond Hill townhouse

Investigators with the York Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses after two shooting incidents at a residence in the City of Richmond Hill.

On Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021 at approximately 10 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a townhouse complex on Centre Street, just east of Yonge Street, for a report of bullet holes in the front door of a home. No one was injured during the incident. The shooting is believed to have occurred between 8 and 9 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021.

The same residence had shots fired at it during a previous incident reported to police on Jan. 16, 2021, the exact date and time of the incident has not yet been determined. No one had been physically injured.

York Regional Police would like to make our citizens aware that we have increased patrols in this area and we are asking the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or sounds of gun shots immediately.

Investigators continue to appeal for any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police to come forward, as well as anyone with residential video surveillance or dashcam footage from the area at the time.
