Police are looking for this suspect in connection to an armed robbery May 18 at a jewelry store in Markham.

Police have released photographs of one of four suspects wanted in relation to an armed robbery that occurred May 18 at a jewelry store in Markham.

York Regional Police responded to the business in a mall near Steeles Avenue and Kennedy Road at 3:10 p.m., where a suspect had rung the doorbell to enter the store and then assaulted an employee who opened the door.

Three other suspects then entered the store, smashing a display case and stealing high-end watches, police said. A gunshot went off during the incident, but no one was injured. The suspects then fled in a vehicle.

The suspect shown in the photos is described as a man with brown skin, 20 to 30, standing five-foot-six, with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a grey two-piece suit, blue shirt and black shoes. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who sees him is advised to not approach him, but to call 911.

“The suspect is encouraged to seek legal counsel and turn himself in,” police said in a news release. “Investigators are reminding the public that anyone who is, or has, assisted the suspect may be subject to criminal charges.”

The three other suspects are described as males who were wearing dark clothing with hoods and masks.
