Pedestrian seriously injured in Markham collision (Update)

York Regional Police is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the pedestrian who was seriously injured in a collision this morning on 16th Avenue in Markham.

The woman is described as female, Asian, approximately 60 years in age, wearing a white sun hat and black jacket.

The woman remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.

Markham Fire and York Region Paramedic Services were on the scene at about 9:15 a.m. to remove the woman from under the vehicle that struck her on 16th near the Bridle Walk in Unionville, according to York Regional Police.

The driver of the pick-up truck that struck the woman remained at the scene.

Police are requesting that any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers, or who may have dashcam footage of the incident, to come forward.
