Pedestrian fatally struck on train tracks in East Gwillimbury

GO Trains are moving on the line again but there may be residual delays

A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train on the GO Barrie line north of the East Gwillimbury GO station this morning. 

York Regional Police said there was a collision on the train tracks near Yonge Street and Holland Landing Road before 6 a.m. April 12. 

Trains were halted for the investigation, with service resuming shortly after 9 a.m.

According to GO Transit, the person was struck at about 5:40 a.m., which was reported as a fatality by emergency responders at  6:14 a.m.

Regularly scheduled service is returning with some "residual delays," GO Transit said. Click here for service updates.
