York Regional Police have arrested one person and see additional suspects are being sought in connection with residential break-ins in King Township.

On Thursday, just after 9 a.m., York Regional Police responded to a break and enter in progress in the area of Keele Street and Sculptors Gate. A man told police he was following a suspect who had just attempted to break into his home.

Officers arrived on scene, reviewed security camera footage and set up a perimeter to locate the suspect, who was found hiding in a wooded area nearby, police said in a news release.

Police believe a vehicle seen in the area at the time — a newer-model Honda CR-V — is connected to the break-in.

Luka Lazaridi, 45, of of Toronto, has been charged with two counts each of break and enter and disguise with intent.

Police are looking to identify additional suspects.
