Newmarket teen arrested, 9-year-old gets his birthday bike returned

Investigators with the #1 District Criminal Investigations Bureau would like to thank the community and media after tips were received that led to an arrest and the recovery of a child’s bike that had been stolen in the Town of Newmarket.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020 shortly before 5 a.m., two suspects entered the garage of a residence on College Manor Drive. Each of the suspects stole a bicycle. One of the bikes was a children’s Schwinn mountain bike that had just been given to a nine-year-old boy for his birthday the day before.

Investigators released a picture of one of the stolen bikes, along with images of the suspects obtained from residential video surveillance. A short time after the images were posted to social media, tips were received.

On Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, investigators arrested one of the suspects and recovered the stolen Schwinn mountain bike. The bike was returned to the nine-year-old boy.

    •    William Nodelman, 18, Town of Newmarket

Charge:
    •    Possession of property obtained by crime

The investigation is ongoing.
