Speeding/Stunt Driving

BRADFORD, ON - A 20-year-old Newmarket man is charged with speeding and stunt driving following a traffic stop in Bradford.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019 around 12 p.m., South Simcoe Police Service officers were conducting speed enforcement at the 8th Line and Wood Crescent when a vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.

A speed measurement was obtained of 105 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone.

Police conducted a traffic stop. The driver was charged with speeding and stunt driving. His driver's licence was suspended for seven days and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

Officers conducting speed enforcement in Bradford and Innisfil have charged over 60 drivers with speeding in the last 24 hours. Consider, too, that road conditions are unpredictable and not ideal due to sporadic white-outs and changing weather. We can't emphasize this enough. Reduce your speed. The best way to try to avoid being in a collision is to slow down. It's also the simplest way to avoid getting a speeding ticket.
