Newmarket man among 32 charged with impaired by OPP

Three York Region residents were among 81 charged with impaired-related, dangerous driving and racing offences in the GTA last week

The Ontario Provincial Police laid 37 impaired-related and dangerous driving charges, and 44 street racing charges in the Greater Toronto Area last week.

Christopher Knoke, 30, Newmarket, is charged with impaired driving – 80 plus, according to OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt of the highway safety division.

Another York Region resident facing charges is Paul Marsella, 34, of Vaughan, dangerous operation, careless driving.

Of the 32 impaired/over 80 charges, the majority were laid against males aged 26 to 35 (14 charges). 

Of the Highway Traffic Act racing offences, the majority of charges were laid against males aged 18 to 25 (14) and males aged 26 to 35 (14).
