Newmarket driver charged with impaired after vehicle hits house

A Newmarket man faces impaired charges after a vehicle crashed into the front door of a Bradford West Gwillimbury house early Sunday. 

South Simcoe Police responded to a report that a vehicle had crashed into the front door of a home near Simcoe Road and Walker Avenue Sept. 10 at about 3 a.m., police said.

The driver was arrested at the scene, police said.

Genesis Cagol, 49, is charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired - excess blood alcohol, and dangerous operation, police said.

He was treated in hospital for minor injuries and released.

His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days, police said.
