Multiple gunshots fired at Markham home

Investigators with the York Regional Police #5 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking two suspects and witnesses following a shooting that occurred in the City of Markham.

On Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 at approximately 11 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Solace Road, which is in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive East and Donald Cousens Parkway, for reports of sounds of gunshots. When officers arrived, they found multiple bullet holes in the front door of a residence. Officers spoke to the occupants of the home who were not injured.

Investigators believe that shortly before 11 p.m., two people approached the residence and fired multiple gunshots then ran away.

Suspect #1:
    •    Male
    •    Wearing a grey track suit with white running shoes
    •    Armed with a handgun

Suspect #2:
    •    Male
    •    Wearing all black with white running shoes
    •    Armed with a handgun

Officers are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken to police to please come forward. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways in the area.

York Regional Police is asking residents and business owners in our community to partner with us in community safety by signing up for the new Security Camera Registry. The Security Camera Registry gives members of the community the option to let York Regional Police know they have installed residential or commercial security cameras, which may assist police if a crime later occurs in that area.

Participants can visit yrp.ca/RegisterMyCam and complete the brief online registration form to add their cameras to the registry. Upon completing the form, participants will also be asked to verify their email address in order to complete the registration.
