Markham pedestrian has life-threatening injuries after being struck by truck

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a serious pedestrian collision in the City of Markham.

On Monday, Nov. 2, 2020 shortly after 11 p.m., York Regional Police were called to the intersection of Markham Road and New Delhi Drive for a report of a collision where a pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck. When officers arrived they found the pedestrian, a 25-year-old man from the City of Toronto suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital where he remains.

The driver, a 55-year-old man from the City of Toronto remained at the scene.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, anyone who may have dashcam footage or residential video surveillance of the collision, to please come forward.

York Regional Police is asking anyone with information to contact the Major Collision Investigation Unit by calling 1-866-876-5423, ext. 7704, or to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS, or leave an anonymous tip online.
