Nour Marakah is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after removing his court-ordered GPS ankle bracelet

A man who removed a GPS ankle monitor and broke house arrest is sought by police. 

Nour Marakah, 34, was originally arrested following an armed home invasion and robbery investigation by York Regional Police's hold-up unit. 

He was convicted of numerous charges and released by the courts while awaiting sentencing, on the condition that he be under house arrest and wear a GPS ankle bracelet at all times. 

On Dec. 3 he removed the GPS bracelet and left his home in Whitby. He is still wanted, according to Crime Stopper's crime of the week. 

Marakah is described as a white 34-year-old male, 210 pounds, 5'9" tall with long brown hair and a brown beard. He is considered armed and dangerous. 

Police warn the public not to approach him. 

Anyone who sees Marakah is advised to instead contact YRP immediately at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7008 to have an officer sent to the location.
