Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect following a harassment incident in the City of Vaughan.

On Sunday, July 4, 2021, at approximately 6:15 p.m., officers responded to a mall on Bass Pro Mills Drive for a report that a woman was being followed by an unknown male suspect. The victim advised that a male suspect, who had followed her on a prior date, had come into a store where she works and remained in the store until it closed while she hid in the back room. When she attempted to leave, she observed the suspect waiting at the bus stop. When the suspect saw her, he began walking toward her and she ran back into the mall and called police.

She advised that approximately three weeks ago she had been approached by the same suspect at a bus terminal and he asked her for directions. She provided the information then left intentionally in the opposite direction. The suspect followed the victim, who ran from the area in hopes of losing him.

Investigators would like to identify the suspect and determine the circumstances of the incident. Anyone who witnessed this incident or who can identify the suspect are asked to come forward.

SUSPECT: 

  • Male, white 
  • Approximately 5’10”,medium build 
  • Short, dark-brown hair and beard 
  • Wearing a white Tshirt, dark-grey board shorts, a black mask and a black backpack
