Man seriously injured in robbery, assault in Vaughan

Suspects stole the victim’s cellphone and car keys and fled on foot in Saturday night incident

A 31-year-old man was seriously injured in a robbery and assault Saturday night in Vaughan.

Officers found the man lying on the sidewalk with severe head injuries after being beaten by as many as three suspects, one of whom was armed with a knife, on Oct. 14 just after midnight, in the area of Fossil Hill Road and Sheshi Drive, according to a York Regional Police news release.

The suspects stole the victim’s cellphone and car keys and fled on foot. His vehicle was not taken, police added.

One of the suspects is described as wearing all black clothing, black gloves and a mask.

Investigators are appealing to residents in the area to review their home security cameras for footage between Saturday, Oct. 14 at 11:40 p.m. and Sunday, Oct.  15 at 12:10 a.m.

They are also asking anyone who may have dashcam footage at the time of the incident, or who has information about the suspects, to come forward.
