Man injured in Aurora in mid-day stabbing on Halloween

A man sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries in a stabbing in Aurora on Halloween.

York Regional Police responded to a plaza at Yonge Street and Brookland Avenue for a report of a stabbing on Monday, Oct. 31, at about 11:55 a.m.. Officers found a man suffering from stab wounds, police said. He was taken to the hospital .

The incident occurred in the parking lot behind a plaza, police said, after which a suspect ran across the street to the parking lot of a restaurant. 

The suspect attempted to get into the passenger side of a silver Honda Civic but the driver turned them away and drove off, heading south on Yonge. Police are urging the driver of that car come forward as a witness. 

Investigators are also seeking the suspect, who is described as a male with an olive complexion and heavy build. He was wearing a black-hooded coat, black baseball hat, sunglasses and a white mask.
