A large amount of cash was stolen from a truck parked at a Newmarket plaza last Friday.
The black GMC pick-up truck was in the parking lot at the northeast corner Leslie Street and Davis Drive, where the victim first went to the bank and then went to a grocery store on Friday, June 2. When he returned to the vehicle, he found that a significant amount of cash stored inside it had gone missing between 9 and 10:15 a.m., according to a York Regional Police news release.
Investigators believe the area was well travelled by pedestrians and drivers. Anyone who saw anything suspicious is asked to come forward. Additionally, anyone with dashcam video from the area around the time of the incident is asked to contact police as soon as possible.
