John Sedo, accused of murdering his wife in July 2020 in Aurora, has been found guilty of manslaughter.
A jury found Sedo, 64, guilty of manslaughter on Thursday, Feb. 29, with sentencing scheduled to take place in the coming months, said York Regional Police in a news release.
Helen Sedo was reported missing several days after she left her home on Treegrove Circle, near Bathurst Street and St. John’s Sideroad, on July 29, 2020.
Investigators soon deemed her disappearance suspicious.
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2020, John Sedo, then 61, was arrested and charged in connection with the death.
On Oct. 13, 2020, investigators recovered her burned vehicle in a quarry northeast of Huntsville, after it was found by hunters. While Helen is presumed dead, her body had never been found.
