York Regional Police have arrested four suspects in Newmarket involved in a series of organized thefts including high-end perfume.

Police are on the scene at the plaza at 226 Eagle St. around Art's Convenience, where police said the four suspects were apprehended. The four suspects were tracked from a theft at an Aurora Shoppers Drug Mart between Bayview Avenue and Earl Stewart Drive.

Newmarket district Insp. Bruce Valentine said there were no injuries to the suspects or officers, with the arrest happening after a quick foot chase. He said there are no threats to the community and everyone is in custody, though the investigation is ongoing.

"It was a successful outcome to a series of organized thefts," Valentine said.

Charges for the suspects, two men and two women, are still processing. Officers are still searching the suspects' vehicle, Valentine said, adding that items included high-end perfume from numerous locations.

The suspects had pulled into a townhouse complex by Art's Convenience, Valentine said. Police have surveillance of the scene and are still reviewing it.

Police have not yet released any names of the suspects.
