Five victims bound with zip ties during Markham armed robbery

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses following a home invasion robbery in the City of Markham.

On Sunday, March 22, 2020 shortly after 5 a.m., York Regional Police were called to a residence on American Elm Way, which is in the area of Highway 7 East and Village Parkway, for a report of a robbery. When officers arrived, they found five adult male victims who were not physically injured.

Investigators were advised that four unknown men, two of them armed with handguns, had forced their way into the residence while the victims were sleeping. While inside, the suspects bound the victims with zip ties and stole currency and jewelry.

The suspects are described as:
    •    Male, Black
    •    Wearing masks
    •    Two of the men were armed with handguns

Investigators from the Hold-Up Unit are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time with a dashcam to please come forward.
