Investigators with the York Regional Police #4 District Criminal Investigations Bureau are seeking witnesses following a suspicious fire in the City of Vaughan.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, shortly before 5:30 a.m., police were called to a plaza in the area of Weston Road and Langstaff Road for a report of smoke coming from the building. When police and Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service arrived they found that the front glass of one of the units was smashed and water and smoke were coming from a tattoo shop. Officers also located a jerry can in front of the building.

The scene is being held for further investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management.

Investigators are seeking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or any nearby businesses that may have video surveillance systems, to contact police. This investigation is ongoing.
