Single vehicle collision in Vaughan claims one life

Investigators with the York Regional Police Major Collision Investigation Unit are seeking witnesses following a single vehicle fatal collision in the City of Vaughan.

On Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at approximately 1:45 a.m. officers responded to a single vehicle collision in the area of Major Mackenzie Drive and Pine Valley Drive. Investigators believe that a 2005 grey Acura was travelling west on Major Mackenzie Drive and for unknown reasons, went off the roadway and flipped into a ditch.

The driver, a 37-year old man from Vaughan, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses who have not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision are being asked to please come forward.
